Valparaiso family is seeking to hire a Temporary (10 weeks) Full-Time Night Nurse/Postpartum Doula/Newborn Care Specialist to assist after their infant daughter is born.

Temporary (10 weeks) Full-Time Overnight Newborn Care Needed

$35-40/Hour (1099 Contractor Position), Full-time, 9pm-7am 4 Nights/week.

This family is looking for an experienced infant caregiver who will be able to take the night shift 4 times per week. This is expected to be a 10 week position, starting a week after the baby is born. The shifts will be 10 hours (9pm-7am), with a schedule of 40 hours/week.


The main responsibilities of this position will be the care of the infant and related duties, as outlined below. The family’s 2 year old son will be present during these shifts, but the Caregiver’s main focus will be on the newborn. A nurturing & warm caregiving style and attunement to the baby’s needs are important for this family, and are therefore required personal values to be considered for this position. This family also requires that the caregiver has their own liability insurance policy for this type of work.

Position to start in August 2025. 

About the Nanny Job

  • Schedule: Full Time, 40hours/week. Suggested schedule: Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 9pm-7am. (Days are flexible to be adjusted as works best for the Caregiver)
  • Hourly Rate: $35-40/hour. 1099 Contractor Position
  • Start Date: Aug 2025
  • Children: 
    • newborn girl
  • Experience & Education Requirements: 
    • 2+ Years of professional childcare experience required
    • 6+ months of professional infant (newborn to 3 months) care experience required
    • Prior night shift experience required
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ideal Caregiver Qualities: 
    • Nurturing & warm, receptive and attuned to the baby’s needs. We are looking for someone we can trust with our newborn so we can relax, rest, and sleep 4 nights per week. We expect to have verbal check-ins at the beginning and end of the shifts, and expect the caregiver to provide a log of activities (feeding, changing, sleeping times, etc).
  • Pets: 20 pound female French Bulldog
  • Level of Activity: Overnight care for a newborn, including waking up with baby, feeding, changing, soothing baby back to sleep, cleaning bottles, etc. There will be a comfortable place for the caregiver to recline in the baby’s nursery.
